Background:

Oened in 1867; moved to new building in 1975; s in own grounds, surrounded by areas of green and shrubbery on eastern outskirts of historic town of Enniskillen; has large central hall, library, music room, special help room (literacy and numeracy) and a resource area, playroom and computer suite with 25 computers; uses adjacent council-owned sports pitch. The school has a broad and balanced curriculum including French in upper school. Certificate of Distinction from Education Extra (2001) for after-school activities programme, which includes cycling proficiency, netball, hockey, football, rugby, music, arts, cookery and ICT and Scripture Union. The school often represents the area at Northern Ireland final level in rugby, football and cricket. Its football team won the Northern Ireland Under-11 Football Association SX3 Cup in 2001. For three years in succession school was selected to represent the area at Northern Ireland finals of NISTRO Science and Technology competition. The school has a gold award for health promotion and pastoral care provision. Strong community and charity links maintained; many trips, both locally and further afield; special events regularly organised to raise funds for charity.
