Opened in 1976 to replace five small rural schools, St Columban's enjoys 'great parental support. It is located in a 'picturesque setting' in rural Drumlin area. It won first prize in the best-kept school award in 1997 as well as winning a bronze certificate in a health promoting school award. The football team were Gaelic champions in 1997-98 and the cross-country team gained first, second and third in an inter-schools championship. Education of Mutual Understanding.
